FOR THE SHORT ANSWER SECTION: Address ALL of the prompts, including an explanation of the significance and demonstrated understanding of the larger historical context. Your responses should reflect significant understandings gained from the course material (i.e. lectures and the textbook). The use of outside sources should be kept to a minimum and properly cited when they are used. Any outside sources should supplement the course material and are not considered an adequate replacement for lecture and reading content. No citations of course material is needed unless it is for a direct quote from the textbook. The standard response length for short answers is two paragraphs. FOR YOUR ESSAY: Be sure to fully address all aspects of the essay prompt. Your response should demonstrate an understanding of the larger historical context, change over time, and provide specific examples to support your main point. Be sure to clearly and explicitly tie your ideas back to the main argument of your essay. Follow any other instructions on the specific questions.
