What’s Cause of Poverty in Africa? “essay help” site:edu essay writing rules

Poverty doesn’t result from just one or two causes. The problem entrenched poverty is extremely difficult to solve because of different factors and all interacting with one another. Three main sections cause poverty in Africa are economic, political and external. Body: Economic: Employment is the main route out of poverty for poor people in an undeveloped country. The government does very little to create more jobs for African nations even with students that graduates from college can’t find work.

With the unemployment rate increase, a lot of Africans have turned into armed robbers, blood money rituals, and secret cults organization, migrating outside Africa and turning into prostitution in order to survive. Therefore, the economic productivity is low but poverty rate is high. When leaders are not accountable to those they serve then there is a sign of corruption. Corruption both in government and business place heavy cost on society because it plays a major cause and a result of poverty. It’s because poverty can be fought in the presence of strong institution, and equitable distribution of resources (Collier).

However, programs that designed to fight poverty in Africa are not fully implemented because the funds end up in the hands of corrupt individuals, who pocket the majority (Bartle). This emphasizes poor governance because those in authority have failed to apprehend the corrupt. Therefore, it requires a non-corrupt government to turn public income into human development outcomes and strengthening of business confidence, economic and social. Political: Social inequality starts from cultural ideas about the relative worth of different genders, races, ethnic groups and social classes (Bartle).

According to Jeff Stats, in African history, apartheid laws defined a binary caste system that assigned different rights and social spaces to different races, using skin color to determine the opportunities available to individuals in each group. Base on this law it’s very inequality for people in Africa because people who are in low class will never able to change their level since they don’t have the opportunity and options to change it. External: With constant war and conflict in Africa makes it very difficult to farm, to work for living or earn money.

It’s hard to start ordinary life because many men are forces to flee from their homes to fight for the war. This will make the continent’s productivity goes down and poverty rates go up. Another factor that cause poverty in Africa is diseases such as malaria, HIV, and TB. When a member in a household is affected by any of those diseases there is very little resources are spent on treating the sick. This lead to people who are left behind with no resources to support themselves and the situation is worsened by poor health facilities.

Paper details:

Try And Use Any Two Of These Values as You Will See In Paper Guidelines If You Can. Honesty And Integrity, Self-Discipline, Sanctity, And Family. It’s A Research Paper Thats due Tomorrow with Athens Topic On The Pro And Cons Of Internet technology. I attached A file. But here it is again. Directions for the Final Paper Technology is not value neutral. Emmanuel Mesthene (1969) said, “New technology creates new opportunities for men and societies, and it also generates new problems for them. It has both positive and negative effects, and it usually has the two at the same time and in virtue of each other.” Exemplify Mesthene’s thoughts using a new or emerging technology that you are interested in critically examining. Select a controversial technology. Consider the technology’s potential for both great benefit and great harm. Who/what is benefiting (would benefit) and who/what is being harmed (would be harmed)? Which human values are being (would be) “tested” by the use of this technology? Are any values put into conflict by this technology? For your information, use at least five (5) credible sources found on the UA Library’s database, Academic Search Complete. (From the UA Library search page, you will select Databases by Title. From there you are to select Academic Search Complete. From there you may search for articles about your topic.) You will primarily be looking for qualitative data from sources who are writing about projected uses and impacts of your controversial technology. In some cases, there may even be quantitative data, like projected carbon impact of the technology. However, quantitative data is not a necessary requirement for this assignment. Guidelines for assessing credible sources can be found in the syllabus. Requirements: 1. I must approve your topic. Don’t start on the paper until I have approved your topic. 2. This is a research paper. Do research. Write in paragraphs. Use APA formatting. 3. Double space and use headings for the different sections of the paper. 4. In-text citations are required. 5. Develop your points and ideas. The text of the paper should be five to 8 pages in length. As a formal research paper, the only portion of the paper in which you should use the word “I” is in the Conclusion/Opinion section. Sections of the Final Paper: Introduction – define/explain the technology. Be sure to include how the technology works. Pros – Three reasons that favor the use of the technology, one paragraph each. At least one of these reasons should include mention of who/what would benefit. (Include a citation for each pro.) Cons – Three reasons for not using or slowing the development of the technology, one paragraph each. At least one of these reasons should include mention of who/what would be harmed. (Include a citation for each con.) Values – Look at the Family Values Tournament in Module 2. Select two values that are relevant to considering the use of this technology and explain why, writing one paragraph for each relevant value you selected. Conclusion – Your opinion/conclusion based on and referring to the reasons in parts 2, 3 and 4. Weigh the qualitative and any quantitative data on both sides. Add to that, consideration of relevant values. In your conclusion, specifically discuss the pros and cons you mentioned earlier in your paper. (Demonstrate critical thinking skills.) Should we embrace the technology, limit its use (if so, to what use) or ban it? And why? This part of the paper is worth the most points. Make it worth 15 points. Works Cited – Includes at least 5 credible sources using APA formatting. Examples of topics: genetically modified organisms (GMOs), horizontal hydraulic fracturing (fracking), health apps, net neutrality, nuclear power (not so new but still controversial), nanotechnology, drones, or self-driving cars
