READ ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!

Please create 5 Instructional (Behavioral) Objectives (IO) in the Cognitive Domain.

Each IO must be written at different grade level (Kindergarten through grade 12) and different content area (subject) as follows:

1 Objective for Math
1 Objective for Science
1 Objective for English Language Arts
1 Objective for Social Science (Core Subject: History/Civics/Government/Economics)
1 Objective for an elective (Music/Art/Debate/Technology/World Language)
After you have developed your 4-part Instructional Objective in the mandatory format (Who – Condition – Behavioral/Performance Verb – Criteria), find a Florida Standard that aligns* with your objective. Copy and paste the Alpha-numeric label and the wording of the benchmark of the standard directly below your objectives.

The wording of your Instructional Objectives does not have to match the wording of the FL Standard (Links to an external site.) — they only need to be related to each other. In most cases an Instructional Objective is a subset or part of the topic that is covered by the Standard.

You must develop your objectives following the mandatory 4-part format, in ONE, Single sentence. Be sure to complete the textbook reading and watch the presentation in this module for instructions before you attempt this assignment. Use all the materials available to you — the key to success on this and subsequent Teaching Practicum Assignments is following the directions exactly as they are stated. The format for the IO is non-negotiable.

The concept of effective IOs is the essential fundamental concept of this course! If you do not master this skill, it becomes very difficult to be successful in this course!

At first, most teachers are challenged in the development of Instructional Objectives (IOs) that are reasonable in terms of the criteria (level/quality of student performance). Your criteria should correspond with the skill level of your students, as well as the complexity of the content being taught in the lesson. In addition, the criteria must align with the nature of the task or the behavior. If a student is going to read the hour on an analog clock for the first time, a reasonable measure (the criteria is indicated by the bold-faced portion of the IO) might be:

The student, after an explanation on reading the whole hour on an analog clock, will correctly read the hour on an analog clock at least one out of two times for each of 10 rounds.

This means that after the explanation, the teacher will present the student with an image that has the faces of two clocks. Each clock will depict a whole hour, such as 8 o’clock or 2 o’clock. For each set of clocks shown, the student will read at least one of the whole hours correctly. The student will have 10 pairs of clocks to read.

Please see the attachment for more examples of Instructional (Behavioral) Objectives in the cognitive domain. Please take note of the criteria in each case as well as the Florida Standard that aligns with each objective. Please be sure to indicate the alpha-numeric code and the verbiage of each of your standards as demonstrated in the attached file of sample instructional/behavioral objectives.

leadership management more detail below

How does a nurse, faced with a clinical practice problem, begin the process of quality improvement? Hopp and Rittenmeyer (2021) indicate that armed with data, nurses use the best available literature to guide practice guidelines. Have you looked at the policies on the unit you work? Who writes and reviews them? Are there references to the literature noted on the policy? Does your organization have a shared governance committee where nurses can present clinical practice problems and collaboratively work to improve patient care?
Your assignment this week will spark your curiosity about how nurses spur change. You are probably aware of items at work that you would like to review. Nurse leaders initiate quality improvement initiatives. This week, we are asking you to think about system change.
Directions: You will write a 1-3 page document in APA format addressing each point (1-4).
1. Your assignment this week asks that you describe a current clinical practice problem within a health care work environment. Please write a paragraph about the problem.
2. Once you identify the problem, you are asked to develop a PICO question to narrow and specify your problem. The PICO question will guide your search for the best available evidence. Here’s some helpful hints…
**Please review the Presentation on EBP Questions and Search Strategy (29:00) and the information found under the ‘Evidence-based practice’ tab of the course Library Guide for additional information on PICO question writing and levels of evidence. The Worksheet to assist in creating a PICO question and search strategy does not have to be submitted. This is only for assistance in creating the PICO.
How do you write an appropriate question? The PICO elements needed for a good research question are:
P- population: be specific about that population. As an example, if you are interested in hospitalized patients with COVID, be more specific about the specific population. Perhaps you are interested in hospitalized patients with COVID requiring respiratory support. How will you describe the population…adults with type I diabetes…5th grade boys…newborns in the NICU?
I- intervention- be specific about the intervention your population receives. You will be searching for the highest level of evidence in the literature. Questions to consider: Remember, you are not doing a research project. Instead, you are trying to find the best available evidence to support a change in practice? Another thing to think about – is this a nurse mediated intervention? Practice changes that involve other stakeholders (doctors, respiratory therapists, pharmacy techs) would require them to be at the table.
C-comparison Who is your comparison group? Did half the group in the study receive the intervention and the other half did not? The literature will tell you the answer.
O- outcome what outcome do you want to measure? Ex. adherence to hand hygiene policy
Here is an example of a well-written PICO question: What is the effectiveness of offering mandatory training sessions (I) compared to posting signs in the hospital (C) on improving adherence to the hospital hand hygiene protocol (O) among nurses in the ICU (P)?
3. Search for a minimum of three (maximum of five) research (scholarly) articles published within the last 10 years that relate to the chosen clinical practice. Note: Focus on higher levels of evidence whenever available. Please use APA format to reference each article at the end of your assignment.
4. Use the articles in step 3 (above) to summarize and synthesize the evidence as it relates to your question.
a. Summarizing your article means that you are articulating general findings in your own words for each of the three (3) articles cited on your reference list.
b. Synthesizing, then, is applying the findings to the clinical problem you have identified in step 1.

Assignment 1: Application – Diagnosing and Treating Skin Wounds

Assignment 1: Application – Diagnosing and Treating Skin Wounds.

Skin wounds are sometimes challenging for health care providers to diagnose and treat as many have similar presentations. For advanced practice nurses, being able to identify various types of skin wounds, including whether a wound is a colonization or an infection, is critical because it impacts recommended patient care. In your role, you must be able to evaluate skin wounds, determine the diagnosis, and develop an appropriate treatment and management plan according to current evidence-based guidelines. To prepare: Review Chapter 46 of the Resnick text, as well as the Burr article in this week’s Learning Resources. Consider how to properly diagnose skin wounds in frail elders, including how to distinguish between a colonization and infection. Select a type of skin wound, such as bumps, bruises, shingles, herpes, bullous pemphigoid, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, etc. Research the guidelines for treatment of the skin wound you selected. Reflect on how you would treat and/or dress this wound. Think about factors that might contribute to the development of the skin wound you selected. Consider strategies for the prevention and improvement of this type of wound. To complete: Write a 4-page paper that addresses the following: Explain how to properly diagnose skin wounds in frail elders, including how to distinguish between a colonization and infection.

Describe the type of skin wound you selected. Explain how you would treat and/or dress this wound based on guidelines for treatment. Explain factors that might contribute to the development of the skin wound you selected. Include strategies for the prevention and improvement of this type of wound. 2 SOURCES: https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Provider-Enrollment-and-Certification/CertificationandComplianc/NHs.html Burr, S.
