This source includes a collection of letters written by women who experience female sexual arousal disorder. These people want to learn more about the underlying cause of their psychological and physiological difficulties. These letters are very informative because they throw light on the experience of many females living in the first half of the twentieth century. First of all, it is possible to say that they are extremely concerned about their inability to derive satisfaction from sexual intercourse. More importantly, these documents demonstrate that these women tended to blame themselves for this problem. Nevertheless, they did not think that these difficulties could be partly attributed to their husbands. This trend manifested themselves among women who might represent different social or racial groups. Additionally, this article shows that according to the norms, which existed during that time, sexual intercourse was one of the issues that could not be openly discussed. To a great extent, it was viewed as the “necessary evil” by people who could have different backgrounds (Faulkner, 155). This source does not throw much light on the relationship between marriage and sexuality to class and racial norms. The letters included in this document do not contain references to the concepts of class or race. Nevertheless, this document shows that women, who might represent different classes or racial groups, could be ashamed of having psychological or physiological problems. To some degree, these people felt marginalized because they could not perceive themselves as “normal” (Faulkner, 153). This reading does not show how exactly spouses could discuss these issues. Jonung defines the presence of occupational gender segregation as when women and men are differently spread across occupations than is consistent with their overall shares of employment, irrespective of the nature of job allocation. Gender segregation mean when the percentage of one gender is higher than that of males and females in an occupation. It reflects the gender differences in employment opportunity. The number of occupation with segregation against women is far greater than the number of occupations with segregation against men. Occupational gender segregation consists of two main component dimensions known as horizontal and vertical segregation (Blackburn et al, 2000). Horizontal segregation is known as under or over representation of certain group in the workplace which is not ordered by any criterion (Bettio and Verashchagina, 2009). According to Anker (1998) horizontal segregation is an absolute and universal characteristic of contemporary socio-economic systems. It focuses mainly when men and women possess different physical, emotional and mental capabilities. Such discrimination occurs when women are categorized as less intelligent, hormonal and sensitive (Acker 1990). Women are labeled as unreliable and dependent workers when they are pregnant. They are less competent as they will not work as long and hard as others. They become more stressful and sensible to tiny issues happen in the workplace. Martin (1994) declared that in masculine management style, most of the time women possess ‘soft skills’ and men possess ‘hard skills’. It is this concept which creates gender segregation in the workplace. It is important because nearly every aspect of cognition depends on memory to some degree. To understand problem solving, decision making, attention, and perception, you need to know the abilities and limits of memory. The quality of memory is important for practical reasons as well. Many significant events depend on reports from human observers. From eyewitness testimony in murder trials to arguments with a spouse about who said what, memory and memory accuracy is critical. A surprising finding is that there is no way to assess memory accuracy without objective evidence (such as a tape recording or a photograph). The vividness or confidence of the person recalling the memory is not an accurate indication of the truth of the memory. This is not to say that most memories are inaccurate. We must be pretty accurate much of the time or else living would be quite difficult. However, for those situations in which accuracy of detail is important, memories cannot be trusted, no matter how adamant the recaller is about the vividness of the memory.This experiment demonstrates one methodology that biases people to recall things that did not occur.
