Professor’s Instructions:
Your Final Version of Independent Research Paper should
include the application of Critical Race Theory (CRT) or an additional theoretical foundation from the course. Plus, how Communities of Color are challenging oppression using Transformational Resistance (TR) in your analysis. TR supports the analysis by highlighting how People of Color (POC) organize, advocate, resist, and use resiliency to create larger change for disenfranchised POC. Provide your best quality work. Pin your final paper as a Word Document and make sure it is unlocked. Do not pin Google doc or lock your documents. I will not read them, if locked.
All students are expected to apply Critical Race Theory in their analysis, as well as apply the concept of Transformational Resistance (Delgado-Bernal and Solórzano). This provides students with vital academic tools for social justice research in Chicana/o Studies. The Final Research Paper must include clear thesis, argument, citations, bibliography, an image of the topic, a creative title, and follow MLA style writing guidelines or style based on your major or discipline. Format of paper must be Microsoft Word, 12-point font, single space, and include pages numbers, full course name. Note, Independent Research Papers require research, plus reliable sources such as books, journals, data sets, internet sites, media, and interviews (at least 6 sources for the research paper).
