HA255: Human Resources for Healthcare Organizations
This week we are asked the two questions below:
How the need for quality employee training and development is related to a healthcare organization’s mission, vision and values?
Typically, job roles are defined by a job description that’s created to serve the purpose of supporting an organizations specific function. For instance, physicians would not work in a company that supplied durable medical equipment. Physicians typically work in healthcare facilities and a sales professional would work for a company that supplied medical equipment. However, both roles service the medical field or healthcare industry, but their job descriptions are company-specific.
Therefore, when HR professionals consider establishing training programs, they must design them in a way that the training aligns with an organization’s mission, vision, and values. For example, hospital facilities mission may be centered on patient care and satisfaction, whereas, a durable medical equipment company may focus on sales. Let’s assume a hospital facility just invested in a few MRI machines, certainly, clinical workers will need training on how to properly operate the new machinery. Or, let’s say new electronic medical records software system was just implemented facility-wide, training would be geared toward non-clinical workers such as admissions coordinators, schedulers, and patient documentation specialist.
Why is training so important?
Training is important because it increases job performance. Job performance and employee development are vital to the success of an organization because it helps the organization stay competitive and progress. Regular training gives employees the advantage to better maneuver through tough challenges in healthcare, break down communication barriers, increase access and remain qualified to deliver the best health outcomes. Also, with rapid integrated technology and healthcare policy, regular training prepares healthcare professionals with current necessary credentials needed to provide care and manage an organization.

Together, the vision, mission and values statements provide directions for everything that happens in an organization (Flynn, 2014). They usually keep everyone focused on where the organization is going and what it is trying to achieve (Flynn, 2014). They all define the core values of the organization and how people are expected to behave (Flynn, 2014). Development and training are very important in healthcare organizations to ensure the ongoing delivery of safe and competent care (Flynn, 2014). Training is a process where people gain their high potential and help the organization achieve its goals. Since the process is tied to a variety of organizational purposes, training can be viewed as specific or broader.
As a part of strategic competitiveness, employees whose capabilities stay current and who receive regular training are better able to cope with the challenges and changes occurring in healthcare (Flynn, 2014). The healthcare environment today with all the new technologies, web technology, and the increasing cost pressures without continuing training may not have staff members to provide care and manage the organization (Flynn, 2014).
Training and development can increase employee retention, job satisfaction, and productivity. Training is the tool super needed when implementing new policies, equipment, new employees, etc. Official training programs are an integral part of hiring new employees and integrating them into a company’s mission, vision, and values. There are far more consequences that come with the lack of training, especially in healthcare such as the data or privacy issues, inadequate documentation, compliance risks, patient safety risks, high turnover in staff, reduced employee productivity, legal issues, stress on management, and much more.

HI135: Legal Aspects of Health Information
During the reign of Barack Obama as president, 2008-2016, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was introduced. Signed into law, March 23, 2010, more commonly referred to as “Obamacare”, the Affordable Care Act affected MANY Americans. There were three categories of individuals affected by Obamacare: 1) the Grandfathered health insurance holders, 2) the Non-grandfathered health insurance holders, and 3) the uninsured Americans.
Grandfathered health insurance holders were able to keep their current insurance plans IF their insurance company stilCl offered the plan under the new standards of the Affordable Care Act. The Non-Grandfathered health insurance holders, which included individuals who purchased health insurance after March 23, 2010 had to enroll in a new plan to meet the standards of the Affordable Care Act. Uninsured individuals would be penalized if they met the criteria. The penalty for not having insurance for that fiscal year was as high as $695 or 2% of a person’s annual income. This penalty wounded many tax payers when it came to their annual tax refunds. They were not happy.
It is obvious that the Affordable Care Act encourage many Americans to purchase insurance because of the affordability and coverage, with low deductibles and cheap payments. Some pros of the Affordable Care Act is the slowing down of the rising of health care costs, the coverage of the 10 essential health benefits, coverage for pre existing conditions and the idea that children under the age of 26 were able to continue being on their parents health insurance. The biggest pro of Obamacare was that the middle class received tax credits on their premiums. This explained Medicaid to 138% of the federal poverty level, providing coverage for adults without children. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that it would reduce the budget deficit by $143 million by 2022, by reducing government’s health care costs, raising taxes on some businesses and higher income families, and shifting cost burdens to health care providers and pharmaceutical companies.
Some cons included the raised income tax rates and the taxing of those that didn’t purchase insurance. The pharmaceutical companies were greatly impacted because of having to pay extra to close the “doughnut hole” gap to cover the difference. Although 5 million people lost their employment-based health insurance, many businesses found it more cost effective to pay the penalty. (the balance, 2019)
Obamacare was a controversial topic during the presidency of Barack Obama, leaving both positive and negative effects on Americans. What was your stand on the Affordable Care Act? I was not affected by the tax penalty because of the minimal income I was making annually, but were you? Did your employment-based health insurance get cancelled? Did your insurance transfer over?

For this discussion I have chosen to the issues of access to healthcare for the uninsured. I decided to touch on this topic because I feel this issue effects a large population. The article from mentions the lack of health insurance has been a steady issues in the united states. That’s where the idea to expand medicaid coverage for individual of low incoming and individuals below 400% poverty with marketplace subsides. The amount of people uninsured has increased continuously in 2 years straight. Children do not contribute much to the uninsured percentage; adults (non-elderly) are the majority with these percentages. I believe uninsured people have less medical care and timely care than an insured individual. I believe The Affordable Care Act ( ACA) helped the population a bit. A lot of people was not insured due to income; providing insurance for low-income has help this percentage I believe. It may differ for state to state and the resources people have access to.

Animal Welfare and Animal Rights Research Proposal.

I wanted to research the subject of animal welfare and animal rights. I love animals, and I would like to know more about them and their living conditions so that I could spread the correct information to others about how to treat them well. At the beginning of the paper, I want to use scientific sources and real news to tell my audience how tremendous and essential animals are to us. (k9 dogs, a guide dog) It’s not easy for everyone to say the differences between animal rights and animal welfare. Firstly, I want to list the differences in animal rights and animal welfare. I’ll seek the materials and evidence that if any country has/haven’t, the law that protected animal rights or firms still use animals for food, clothing experimentation which is clearly against animal rights. Is that behavior illegal? What are the punishments? As we all know, some Asian countries still have the “tradition” of eating companion animals. I would like to reveal these facts and their latest law about animal rights. The next step is to collect sources about how animal welfare applied in each country, are those organizations governmental or non-profit? I’ll mention the importance of taking good care of animals. Based on all the words below, my audience should notice three things; animals are great, they helped people in daily life, they worked for people, the differences between animals’ rights and welfare, the actual animal living conditions in each area. The last and biggest question is how we can protect their rights and let the animal enjoy welfare.

Columbia Southern University Littering Paper

Columbia Southern University Littering Paper.

SEE ATTACHMENT Describe three key factors that help to determine the likelihood that a person will litter. Which of these factors is most likely to contribute to the probability that a person will litter. State how you came to this conclusion.A municipal government has agreed to provide once-per-week waste collection services to a new residential community of 10,000 people. The city council has hired you to make a preliminary assessment to determine if it should build and operate a transfer station to support the collection. For the initial analysis, assume that the community does not have a recycling program. Here is some of the initial data that the municipal engineer has collected. The round-trip distance from the residential community to the landfill is 58 miles. Phase 1 of the refuse collection system discusses volume-based fee systems and weight-based fee systems. Table 3-1 (p. 99) is a listing of materials collected in recycling programs in 2012. To fight litter in your community, design a six-step actionable litter plan that you can give to a project team to implement. In your plan, include the management principles that go into making this plan. Justify to the implementation team why your plan will be successful. (Your total response for all parts of this question should be at least 300 words.) The round-trip distance from the proposed site of the transfer station will be 63 miles. The size of the residential garbage truck that collects waste from the community is 28 cubic yards. The garbage truck is capable of compacting the refuse to 650 pounds per cubic yard.A long-haul truck is capable of transporting 23 tons of compacted waste per trip. The transfer station has a fixed operating cost of $10/ton.The cost to operate the garbage truck is $1.30/mile.The cost to operate the long-haul truck is $0.56/mile. Using what you have determined from the information above, assess using the principles of solid waste management. Would you recommend to the city council that a transfer station be built and operated? Show all work on how you came to your answer. Note: p. 39 – The United Nations (UN) estimates the waste generation rate is 4.8 pound per person per day.If the community operated a recycling program, would this change or support your recommendation to the city council? Show all work on how you came to your answer. Note: p. 99 – Table 3-1 – Total recycled municipal waste is 34.5% of generation. (Your total response for all parts of this question should be at least 200 words.) For a residential community, explain why a volume-based fee system would be recommended.Give the reasons for the fee based system that you would recommend for a commercial operation. For a construction site, defend your recommendation for the fee based system that you would recommend. What leadership and/or management principles factored into your recommendation? (Your total response for all parts of this question should be at least 200 words.) Which of these would you recommend to go to a compost pile? What percent of the 2012 recycled materials does this divert?Provide your recommendations to the city council for how you would keep materials destined for composting from comingling with the other recycled materials. (Your total response for all parts of this question should be at least 200 words.)

I’m working on a business discussion question and need an explanation to help me study.

More on DBsAt the end of each unit, DB participation is assessed based on level of engagement and the quality of the contribution to the discussion. DBs allow learners to learn through sharing ideas and experiences as they relate to course content. Because it is not possible to engage in two-way dialogue after a conversation has ended, no posts to the DB are accepted after the end of the unit. Learners must demonstrate an appropriate depth of understanding of course content to receive credit for having submitted substantive posts. Typically, this is achieved with 3–4 strong paragraphs for Main Posts and 2–3 strong paragraphs for Response Posts.Select your state or local government and research the major funds. What are the major funds of your state or local government, and how do they differ from those of nonprofit organizations? How are they determined?Discuss major resources and uses of each fund.Based on your research of the major fund of your state or local government, do you think this government organization is financially healthy? Discuss your reasons for your answer.Remember to use APA referencing in the body of your posting as well as in the reference section.

Please create a power point presentation with speaker notes on a parent/caregiver training for a backward chaining of washing Essay

Please create a power point presentation with speaker notes on a parent/caregiver training for a backward chaining of washing hands. I have attached the instructions and grading rubric. I have also attached a zoom link to an example presentation which starts around minute 8:00 of the video. Please create a power point that is similar to this on in the zoom link video. Also please use her presentation as a guide to the speaker notes. (If that link doesn’t work please let me know ASAP) I have also attached an example power point that outlines what each slide should be and you can pull ideas from the graphs and charts for ideas. This presentation is based off the questionnaire I have attached and below is the feedback from my professor on the questionnaire: “The questionnaire looks good. Work to frame this training to build the skill set of the people you are training. Start broad and make sure they understand it from a concept point of view before pulling it into the context of this particular intervention. Couple notes on your data sheets: your instructions are good, but I don’t see where you actually record data. Are we doing this as a simple Cr/Ir? – or will there be a percentage of steps completed correctly like a TA? Also on the social validity form – often those are done with a Likert scale (rate from 1 – 5) – you can have an open-ended question in there too – but usually, they are done with a rating scale. That is not a rule – so you can keep it open if you want to – just think about what type of response you will get. “ Please adjust final presentation to fix the concerns from the professor. This presentation should include a similar social validity questionnaire, response chart, data sheet, procedural integrity sheet as seen in the example PowerPoint attached. Please title each slide as the same as this example power point.
