Application of Crisis Theory Intervention. Application of Crisis Theory Intervention In order to understand crisis theory, where it originated and how it applies and relates to victim advocacy we must first define crisis. Crisis is defined as “a dramatic emotional or circumstantial upheaval in a person’s life” or “a condition of instability or danger, as in a social, economic, political, or international affairs, leading to a decisive change” (Dictionary.com, 2018) Crisis can affect a single individual who experiences a circumstance they feel is intolerable or outside their ability to cope or it can also affect a group of individuals in a more systematic manner in a mass traumatic event. Crisis can occur at any time and to anyone, it has no limitations and no one is unsusceptible. In this paper, I will discuss Applied and Expanded Crisis Theory, explain the roots of these theories and how they can be applied as a victim advocate to doing crisis intervention. Lastly, using Applied Crisis Theory I will identify and give examples of a developmental, situational and existential crisis that I have personally experienced in my own life. Crisis theory was developed in the early 1940’s by a German psychiatrist, Dr. Erich Lindermann, he researched and authored the first literature available for bereavement and crisis intervention (MacDonald, 2016). One of his colleagues, a man by the name of Gerald Caplan continued to research and to build the development of crisis theory and its practice (MacDonald, 2016). Over the last 40 years the field of crisis theory has developed and changed through the contributions of various theorists, crisis organizations and grassroots movements. Lindermann and Caplan’s works on crisis theory were essential in providing a foundation for crisis theory and were developed at a time in our nation’s history where an immediate response to a large scale traumatic events such as World War II and other tragedies were necessary. During the 1970’s to the 1990’s, crisis intervention adapted and was shaped with the creations of specialized victim services organizations and grassroots movements that’s sole purposes were to support victims of rape, domestic violence, impaired-driving homicides and parents of murdered children (Davis, Lurigio,Application of Crisis Theory Intervention
Strategic and Consistent Advertising Essay. Introduction The producers and distributors of goods and services often compete for the loyalty of the existing buyers. A business cannot be successful if it does not attract and retain loyal consumers. This calls for strategic and consistent advertising. What advertising? When companies notify consumers about new products they are advertising. When companies tell consumers about new features of a product or recent changes they are advertising. Advertising can be defined as the system that promotes products – goods and services to the willing consumers. It aims at building people’s attention towards the products and service on sale. Excellent advertising translates into improved sales and the resulting profitability of companies (Petley, 2004, p.4). Modern advertising and the media landscape in 2011 The marketing business is more difficult in 2011 than it has been in the previous years. This is because of the growing knowledge by the population that consumes the existing products and services. The stiff competition existing between providers who deal in the same goods and services completes the factors. Advertising agencies and marketing teams today makes use of the cheap methods of advertising through the print and audio media. The advances in technology have aided the development of advertising business to a new dimension in the recent times. The vital problem of modern advertising has to do with too much clutter and the creation of adverts that become detached from peoples conscious needs. The quest to make more in order to convince has caused some businesses to suffer substantial losses in advertising expenditure. Modern advertising has moved from just focusing on the products to the entire media programming. Advertising approaches Modern advertising has become bigger than just being part of the atmosphere. Advertising has grown to be the atmosphere itself. It has become a popular world culture. The entire marketing industry structure got rebranded. The present selling machineries are more focused at getting to the target customers than before. The world of marketing got revolutionized by the concept of emotional branding. The aim of advertising today does not have to do with product placement in the market. Modern advertisers’ goal has to do with filling the gap in every customer. Relevant advertising approaches today are those that appeal to the five physical senses of every customer. There is a shift from just creating brands to building brand movements. The methodologies used have to be comprehensible and elegant. They should be able to create devotion and loyalty among the consumers. The language used must be relevant and effective. It must represent the implied needs of the target customers. It must not ignore culture and other coded structures. Impact of modern advertising on culture Modern advertising and the amount of media it gets are wrong in one way or the other. Pressing to raise loyal customers is like creating a cultic movement. Sooner or later, the customer’s begin to feel let down and cut out. It is not sustainable. The impact this amount of media has on kids and the social philosophy is worrying. Advertising robes kids of basic cultural values such as hard work, integrity and vision. The sensual language most of the adverts use and the images they assume are a powerful damage to cultural practices and ideals. Conclusion Modern advertising managers and agencies will do well if they consider the inherent needs of the customers. The adverts must not ignore customer’s culture. Works Cited Petley, Julian. Goldman Sachs Quantitative Analysis Report

order essay cheap Table of Contents Introduction The analysis carried out by the Goldman Sachs Analysis of the results References Introduction A number of studies have carried out on the economic impact of international sporting events. The Goldman Sachs recently carried out a study to evaluate the economic impact of the Olympics. The researchers attempted to develop the relationship between economics, markets and the games. This relationship was aimed at coming up with a prediction of the medals table. In their research, they found out that the host nations gain a lot by hosting the games. The results of the researchers established that the host nations gain in the areas of political stability, human capital, technology, and both micro and macro economic environment. The stock market of such countries also gains significantly (The Goldman Sachs, 2012). This works attempts to carry out similar regression analysis in order to validate the results of the Goldman Sachs. A lot of emphasis will be put on developing a regression equation that will be used to predict the medals table. The analysis carried out by the Goldman Sachs As mentioned above, the Goldman Sachs came up with a model to predict the results of the Olympics. The researchers used the concept of panel regression to come up with an equation that can predict the Olympic results for the various nations that attended the games. Panel data regression is carried out on data collected on the same individual over different time periods (Greene, 2003). The explanatory variables used in the analysis were; the population of various countries, a host dummy, medal attainment, and GDP (measured by the growth environment scores). Get your 100% original paper on any topic done in as little as 3 hours Learn More In this paper, the same variables in exclusion of a host dummy will be used in the estimation of the regression line. Besides, a linear regression line will be generated from the sample of 50 countries. The table presented below shows the results of the regression carried out. Coefficients Intercept -24.9956 Change in medals 0.784612 GES score 6.529764 Population (measures in millions) 0.046876 From the results of regression analysis presented above, the regression line will take the form Y = -24.9956 0.784612X1 6.529764X2 0.046876X3. The linear regression model above can be used to estimate the number of medals that a nation will earn during an Olympics game. Further, all the 50 nations that were used in the Goldman Sachs research were used in this analysis. None of the nation was omitted. Analysis of the results The results of the regression show that countries with high GES score will earn more medals than countries with low medals. This result is shown by the positive relationship between the GES score and the number of medals earned by the country. The graph presented below shows the scatter diagram that displays the relationship between the number of gold attained by the various countries and the GES score. Based on the scatter diagram above, there exists a strong positive relationship between the two variables. This gives an indication that nations that are economically endowed are likely to earn more medals than countries with less economic resources. Secondly, the results show that countries that host the games earn a higher number of medals than the other countries. This was the case observed in China. We will write a custom Report on Goldman Sachs Quantitative Analysis specifically for you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More In summary, the results show that a large number of medals will go to countries that have a high GDP and a great potential for growth. Further, the model estimated in this paper is not consistent with the model predicted by the Goldman Sachs. They yield different results. References Greene, W. (2003). Econometric analysis.
