In-Depth Poem Analysis

In-Depth Poem Analysis. I’m trying to learn for my English class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

what is the theme, tone, and setting of this poem?
what kind of imagery, figurative language, sound patters, structure, and diction does the author use?
give specific examples by citing the actual poem
speaker, tone, sound patterns (alliteration, for example), metaphor, personification, diction and structure
a. imagery (what pictures does the poem conjure up?)
b. diction (or word choice. Here for example, how would the poem differ if Frost used “street” for “road”?)
c. sound patterns (alliteration, for example–the repetition of beginning consonant sounds such as soft sunlight)
d. figurative language (metaphor or simile)
e. structure (how many lines is the poem? are there patterns in rhyme, length of line, length of stanza? can you start to see how the form affects ideas of the poem?)
f. speaker (what kind of person is she or he? Don’t assume that the speaker is the poet: sometimes the speaker’s and poet’s sensibilities may be very similar, but a poem may be told from the point of view of a bank robber and the poet need not have robbed a bank.)
g. setting (where is the location of the poem–in space and time? how does that contribute to the poem’s meaning.)
h. tone (what the author’s attitude is toward the subject–is he or she angry, sad, amused, frustrated? Or…?)
i. theme (what is the poem about, to you? Poets usually don’t like this question, since they want the overall effect of the poem to be important. If a poet wanted you to think, “it’s ok to be sad sometimes,” the poet would have just said so! Still, for our purposes in a critical thinking class, I’m interested in what the poem suggests and what details lead to that conclusion for you. For our class, while there is not a “right” answer, there is a constellation of valid readings. And there can be “wrong” or unsupported readings. We know this is true since language implies some agreement of understanding. If I say to you that the book is made of bananas–and that for me “bananas” is simply another word for paper–well, that would make use of the English language very confusing. So look to explain your reading of the works of literature–both in these discussions and in your essays. In the past I have given papers As–even though I disagreed with the reading–because the paper used logic and evidence to support a reading. Conversely, papers that simply assert a point without support receive a lower grade.

Hi there,
Could you please use POPULUS to answer these questions? POPULUS is a free application that graph two compete species. The link to download POPULUS provide in this page. Please answer it from your observation, do not use google to answer it. However, you can use google to understand some definition.
Some steps help you to know how to start on POPULUS:
At the main menu in Populus, choose “Multi-Species Interactions”. On the multi-species interactions menu choose “Lotka-Volterra Competition”. This will get you into the model that we will use this week. In case you need a refresher about the material, the Help Menu in Populus opens a pdf file that reviews ecological concepts and processes modeled by the program.
The Lotka-Volterra model of competition is a simple extension of the logistic model of intraspecific competition and population growth, with the added complications of equations for two (or more) species, and the addition of interspecific competition coefficients. In the two species case Populus designates the competition coefficients as a and b, where a is the effect of species 2 on species 1, and b is the effect of species 1 on species 2. Note that in the book the equivalent terminology for a is α 12 and for b is α 21. The remaining terminology (r, K, N) is the same as in the logistic model.

5. Make your case that a problem exists – Your Voice only – No sourcesWrite an argument that describes and illustrates the problem to the best of your ability without relying on any additional sources. Remember what you know about your audience. What can you say that will persuade them to agree with you that this is a problem worthy of their attention. You are not complaining. While you are working, feel free to feel your feelings and vent to anyone who will listen, but remember that in the end, venting is a pressure release, not an effective method of persuading an audience to take action to help solve a problem.6. Improve your case – Add Expert Opinions. What additional information and research will help improve your argument that this is a problem? What do you need to prove to your audience to be convincing, and what kind of proof do you need to find? Are your sources convincing and credible?7. Create a solutionAs you do research into your problem, you will likely find information on possible solutions. Return to the readings from the previous two weeks to get additional ideas about solutions. You probably have a few ideas of your own as well. What would be a good solution to this issue? How will you convince your audience that this is a good solution?

Confucianism System Essay

essay writing help Scholars refer to Confucianism as a system of thought based on the teachings of Confucius, who lived from 551 to 479 B.C.E. Confucius had a significant influence on the life and thought of China more than any other person in Chinese history. He had titles like Sage of All Time and First Teacher (Molloy 11). Religion has shaped human civilization almost from the start of civilization for more than 10,000 years ago. Today more than half of the world’s population practice either principal or indigenous religions. Religion still shapes people’s lives significantly in politics and culture. There is ever increasing ethnic and cultural differences, which have led to several religions practiced alongside each other. However, this essay shall focus on how Confucian thought challenge world view through his teaching of moral code reflecting on ethics, humanity, and love. There are about six million people who today call themselves Confucians. They mostly live in Asia, particularly in China. In Europe, North and South America and in other continents there are a small numbers of people who identify themselves as Confucians. For over 2,000 years, China’s poetry and history, government and social life, and the ethics of the society dominate philosophical system of Confucianism. Confucius emphasized on the ideal of order and harmony. Confucius emphasized that people should live in harmony. He suggested a system of interpersonal relationships and proper governance. In the system, age favored over where only friends were equal. He regarded government as the noble duty of all because ethical governance would bring joy to the people. This explains why people are loyal to their country and the government of the day, while living in order and harmony with each other. He also believed that through education anyone could reach the highest standard of a gentleman (Molloy 13). Confucius viewed the family as a basic unit of society. The family reflected the social, economic, and political units of the society. Family served as the natural environment for moral training. It also acted as the bridge between the individual and society. Confucius stressed the duties and obligations of each family member. He believed that each family member should act according to their roles (Molloy 15). In this case, the son owed obedience to his father just as required in European civilization. Today family relationship still remains the most fundamental unit of society. According to Confucius, a wife was subservient to a husband. Young girls also had to obey their fathers. Girls served and obeyed their husbands and parents once married. They could only get power over their daughters’ in-law when her sons got married (Molloy 16). Sexuality and gender discourse across the world is slowly influencing Confucius’ view on the position and roles of women. Confucius directed his teachings toward the government. Subjects owed respect to the ruler, just as the sons’ owed respect to their fathers. He also perceived the state as an expanded family. The subjects considered the emperor as the “father and mother” of the state. Today one of the duties that the emperor carries out is the wishes of his subjects as taught by Confucius. When Confucianism became a state religion, it formed the basis of the Chinese education system. As such, education became the only way to win government appointment to higher posts. The government honored distinguished scholars just like sports super-heroes of the United States (Molloy 20). Wealth, honor, and status followed the successful candidate and his family. Today citizens consider government officials as people of brilliant minds. Although Confucianism developed and changed, certain core ideals remained and became a stabilizing force for Chinese civilization. Works Cited Molloy, Michael.
