Hi, I am currently reading “An excerpt from a 1917 pamphlet by an immigrant, calling on new arrivals to America to embrace an American identity”. From there I chose 3 quotes that aimed to entice immigrants to move to America. The quotes I chose and need help with is stated as: ” America, the land created by God, where the industrious man can make his living by thrifty and honest labor without being deprived and despoiled of everything he has been able to make.” OR “Do you want to be a free and worthy citizen of a blessed country, which gives you freedom and happiness and your family a future of the bright-est hopes?” OR ” In the U.S. you are not heavily taxed; you have a chance to deposit about one-half of your earnings “In a bank which pays you interest; or you may invest it in safe and sound enterprises. You can easily do this, as the cost of living in normal times does not require more than one half of what you earn. In this way, after sometime, you have a few thousand dollars which as far as money goes, gives you happiness and the satisfaction that you and your family are assured against “rainydays”. So between these three quotes you to get to choose which one helps you explain the situation better.I need your help with the quote that I have selected and choose one to help me by comparing it to that of the family in the Jungle in chapters 5 and 6. Please help me by in a paragraph of 250 words or more, explain why this struggling Lithuanian family in The Jungle (In chapters 5 and 6) would disagree with the statement. Think of a specific situation that a member of the family, or the family as a whole, is facing that would help illustrate the objection. You can address one or several challenges (situations), but make sure you adhere to responding to the statement and be sure to explain why they (or he or she) would object to this other immigrant. You can sparknote “The Jungle” and read only chapter 5 and 6 to complete assignment

7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Begin with the end in mind
7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Begin with the end in mind. Paper details Presentation Audience: 20 High-school Students (Year 11/Grade 10) Presentation time: 45 mins – 1 hour Purpose: To present Habit 2 Begin with end in mind from the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey The presentation must contain a mix of presenting and interactions with activities, videos, and storytelling. The presentation must make sure that the students understand the importance of Habit 2 in a leadership context, in addition, the presentation must be framed in a way for the students and their context… why is it important for them to learn about this? Some ideas for the slides (the writer is free to modify and improve): I think there are three main concepts in Habit 2 – Vision, Commitment, and Purpose. We will have a slide for each or so. Slide 1 – Definition of the three concepts what does it mean? – Maybe through questions to the students and breakout rooms? or through storytelling? Slide 2 – Vision – put three key points – video from Oprah? anything else? any exercise for the students? Slide 3 – Commitment – put three key points – interactive session? Slide 4 – Purpose – Additional slides for above three you can re-arrange the above three to have a good flow Add any interesting stats on people who set out vision / purpose if relevant the main thing from this habit to put it in their context is that they are getting ready to apply to university – this presentation/interaction should help them with setting out what they want, who they want to be, and where they want to be, building a plan, etc please use pictures if necessary to avoid a lot of wordiness please incorporate activities as much as possible (vision / purpose builder etc)7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Begin with the end in mind

This is the instructions. Please read it carefully or you will not be paid at all because you did not read and understand the assignment fully. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank You. Please DO NOT GIVE ME SUMMARIES it’s total BULLSHIT…Also back yourself up if you are going to just say “oh this about this and that…” PLEASE STATE WHY! EVIDENCE.::Topic::Discuss whether consciousness is identical to a brain process. Include the positions on this issue that are likely to be taken by Josiah Royce, Bertrand Russell, Gilbert Ryle, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and J.J.C. Smart, [in that order] and what evidence you have that they would take those positions. As you present the positions of the various philosophers above, mention where you agree and where you disagree.Your essay should be six to eight (but no more) pages typed double-spaced, counting your bibliography, but not counting the cover page (it will be page zero). Number your pages, except for the cover page. Use no endnotes. The cover page should contain your essay title, your name, a 100 word-or-less summary of the essay, and then the number of our course, the semester, and my name. The essay not only should be a report on what other philosophers have said but, ideally, also should demonstrate your ability to argue for or against some philosophical position. Depth of philosophical insight, accuracy of representation of the positions of others, and quality of argumentation are the paramount factors in the grade on the essay, but English writing skill is also a significant factor. You’ll be graded on three basic criteria:1. How well do you understand the issues you are writing about? 2. How good are the descriptions and arguments you offer?3. Is your writing clear and well-organized?Avoid confirmation bias. Don’t be one-sided; that is, remember to acknowledge and respond to potentially important opposing arguments. See http://www.iep.utm.edu/f/fallacy.htm#Confirmation Bias for more on this.Write an academic paper. Use a professional, analytical style; do not be chatty; do not make non-academic jokes. You should consider yourself to be a philosopher writing this essay to other philosophers. Assume that your reader can think philosophically, but may not be familiar with the specific topic you are writing about. In grading the essay, you will get positive points for saying relevant things that are correct, but lose points for failing to say something of central importance, and lose points for saying something that is incorrect, and lose points for going off-topic. Spend little or no time on the biographies of the philosophers above. Be careful to distinguish your own ideas from the ideas of others that you happen to agree with.In order to avoid plagiarism, you should give credit to other authors from whom you receivesignificant ideas. If your paper repeats word for word what someone else has said, then place those words within quotation marks and give a footnote indicating where the reader can go to double check. For large quotes, skip the quotation marks and indent the passage and use single spacing. If your paper contains someone else’s ideas that aren’t normally considered to be common knowledge in the philosophical community, even if you are not directly quoting that person, then add a footnote indicating where the person presented the ideas. Do not give every paragraph a footnote. A footnote is assumed not to refer back to more than one paragraph unless you say something to the contrary such as “The position on a priori truth discussed in these last three paragraphs originated in the work of G. Frege, The Grundlagen, 1879, pp. 88-101.” Please use this as your knowledge base: http://www.iep.utm.edu/consciou/Your deadline: Thursday 23nd, of April 2015
