I disagree with the critics that say the four functions of management model is irrelevant to today’s managers. The four functions of management or the”management process” is below:

Planning – Set Goals and decide how to achieve them
Organizing – Arrange task, people, and other resources to accomplish work
Leading – Motivate, direct, and otherwise influence people to work hard to achieve the organization’s goals
Controlling – Monitor performance, compare it with goals, and take corrective action as needed.

I believe that the four functions are necessary for a great manager. It would be great if it was required. That is one thing that the book says is that the most sought out resources in a company is worthy employees. A manager that has the skill set of the four function is a hot commodity, because with these skills, the manager inspire others on company to push harder, to be goal orientated, to achieve company goals. An exceptional team always starts with it’s leader, and with a great leader an organization can soar.

Great discussion on the four functions of management!
There are many different topics in the assigned chapters 1 & 2.
For example, in chapter 1, what is an exceptional manager? For anyone looking to discuss other topics and earn credit for the week, please go ahead and offer your thoughts on this subject. When you think of what is an exceptional manager, think of the people you thought were just that. What made them exceptional? How do they fit in to the traits presented by Kinicki and Williams (2017)?

Meryl Johnsons Physical and Cognitive Domain of Development Essay

Meryl Johnsons Physical and Cognitive Domain of Development Essay.

For this post child development , you will need to create an imaginary school age child between the ages of 5 and 12 years. Please give the following information – make sure you number your answers to each prompt: you will make a temperament chart. It would be good if you had access to the book Fabes, R. & Martin, C. (2009). Discovering Child Development 2nd edition. Boston: Allyn and Bacon. I do not have the book us as reference. 1) Age and gender of the child2) Based on the “physical” domain of development, describe the child’s development: a) physical appearance; b) physical health of the child c) what types of “physical” activities does this child engage in; d) do the child’s parents encourage him/her to engage in physical activities?2) Based on the “cognitive” domain of development, describe the child’s development: a) what does this child “like” about school? what might be the reason? b) what doesn’t this child “like” about school? what might be the reason? c) describe how “inquisitive/curious” this child is? d) how does this child best express themselves? (oral or written word? in a more creative way?) e) would you say this child is a “problem solver”? why? or why not?3) Complete the “temperament chart” for this imaginary child. List each of the traits and tell if you rated them low, medium or high. DO NOT PUT THE ENTIRE TEMPERAMENT CHART IN YOUR POST – just list the traits and say how your imaginary child would rate.
