Marketing:sodastream,Analyze and assess the following discussion topics in your posting(s): What is the SodaStream “product leadership” strategy? How can SodaStream grow so quickly, not just in the number of stores in which the product is available, but n.

SodaStream is revolutionizing a product that, for decades, did not seem to need or have room for a new and innovative idea. By offering a counter-top home appliance, and over 100 flavored syrups, it has turned “make-your-own” soda into a thriving company. In five years it has grown from being sold in 300 U.S. stores to 15,000 stores, and over 60,000 worldwide. It partners with Kraft, Campbell, and Ocean Spray on flavors; it even worked with Samsung on a new Samsung sparkling refrigerator. SodaStream does not compete head-on with the Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola companies of the world. It has created its own niche and is expanding exponentially, as U.S. sales increased 75 percent last year. Here, competitive advantage is the name of the game. The goal of any market niche is to find an unoccupied spot in the market and fill it. SodaStream is operating in the shadows of the beverage giants and dominating in its fast-growing home-carbonation niche. With 10 to 25 percent penetration in some countries, the potential is significant in less mature markets. Are you familiar with SodaStream or the concept of home-carbonation beverages? Go online and visit the SodaStream website. (Links to an external site.) Links to an external site. Explore the company’s website to better understand the management philosophy of the company. (Some links you may not typically use on a company’s website, but might be useful, include investor relations, and some of the reports and presentations found there.) Discuss Analyze and assess the following discussion topics in your posting(s): What is the SodaStream “product leadership” strategy? How can SodaStream grow so quickly, not just in the number of stores in which the product is available, but number and variety of products? How does the SodaStream story relate to the competitive strategy concepts presented in the course text? A discussion of the SodaStream story provides an example of how an innovative idea can not only survive but thrive, even when the product seems to compete against market leaders. In addition to offering hundreds of flavors, the company provides environmental benefits that it touts in comparative ads. SodaStream has also identified trends and taken advantage of them by adding to its product line with Xstream Energy, SodaStream Isotonic, and SodaStream Sparkling Natural. Be specific, but limit your initial posting to 400 words. Don’t forget to be analytic, and put that critical thinking to use! You are expected to use the information gained via the SodaStream website (Links to an external site.) Links to an external site. as a source and background information for your assessment. Do not post anything directly copy-pasted from the company website.

Assignment Overview. Each student will conduct three interviews with women from different generations (one aged 25 or younger, one 40-50 and one 60 or older) and write a paper that connects information from the interviews with a minimum of three concepts.

Choose three women who are not related to you to interview in person, by phone or Zoom/Skype (not by email or another written format). It is good to interview someone you don’t know very well. You may select neighbors, friends, colleagues at work or school.

Decide what individuals you will be interviewing and make sure each person is willing to be interviewed. Specify the amount of time it will take to complete the interview (preferably no more than 10-15 minutes). Ask if you can take notes during the interview. You should take some notes, but also need to focus on each person while you are conducting the interviews. Listen to what the women are saying to you. Allow sometime after the interview to take more extensive notes so you don’t forget the information.

Schedule the interview. A face-to-face interview is highly preferable. If necessary, a phone interview can be conducted. You can also use Zoom, FaceTime, or Skype.

Interview. Conduct the interview.

Some Ideas for Interview Questions
How do you define leisure? What are (or have been) the most meaningful leisure or recreation activities in your life? What do you love to do in your free time?

How has your leisure changed over the lifespan (i.e., in childhood, teenage years, before and after marriage, before and after children were raised)?

How were you raised to think about women and leisure (socially acceptable activities, need for quality leisure, norms and social expectations)?

How do/did other people in your life (family and friends) influence your leisure today and in the past?

What does feminism mean to you and how has it influenced your life?

How do you (or have you) balanced your work, family, and leisure? What priorities do these three areas have in your life?

What do you want your work and leisure to be like in the future? What do you want work and leisure to be like for children in the future?

Other topics . . . questions should relate to women, leisure and the concepts we have been studying in class such as leisure gap, sexism, discrimination, privilege, racism, body image, how to make societal changes, etc.
Write a paper summarizing what you learned and making a direct connection with a minimum of three concepts from the textbook.

Minimum of 1,000 words, write full sentences in paragraph form with no direct quotes (do NOT use question/answer format to write your paper). Double-space your paper, indent the first line in each paragraph, provide APA format in-text citations for the interviews (N. White, personal communication, September 10, 2018) and a full APA format citation for the textbook at the end of the paper.

Who did you interview (first names, ages, career)? How did it go? What answers surprised you? Did you learn anything new from this person? What is the biggest takeaway or life lesson you received from this interview?

How does each woman’s experience compare with the information you read in the textbook? Make a connection with a minimum of three concepts from the assigned reading that you have not discussed in previous papers.

Sources are the 3 interviews and the textbook which will be a total of 4 sources.

Present your findings in class.

The diversity of women’s experiences.

The diversity of women’s experiences..

Refer the utiline to the major paper. As this course introduces feminist analyses of sex, gender, race, sexuality, class, ability and age, your topic must attend to the diversity of women’s experiences. Be prepared to discuss the experiences of women living in countries in both the economic north and the economic south in relation to your topic. As part of the persuasive and unique analysis, you are encouraged to provide a self-reflexive component of why this topic interests you and is relevant. Consider the following as you write: A good paper should demonstrate an understanding of the topic in both breadth and depth, written with empathetic tone and cultural sensitivity. Apply principles of feminist inquiry and demonstrate your familiarity with terminology that hopefully has grown over the course (a review of unit 3 might help here). Consider placing your topic within a relevant historical context (see unit 2). Refer to unit 1 for what intersectionality means and the need for countering generalizations about gender. You should be able to actively challenge the Western tendency to uncritically celebrate the economic north and denigrate the economic south as it pertains to your topic. Furthermore, you must closely attend to the ways that oppression is actively resisted and the creative strategies that are developed. You are encouraged to reflect and observe by, for example, stating what drew you to this topic. Why is the topic relevant? Do you have firsthand experience or a developing interest? In what way has your perspective been affected or changed? What opportunities at a local level can you as a member of a university community or other community affect change? Finally, follow the format for referencing your sources using Parenthetical Citation outlined in Style for Documentation under the Resources section.
