Reverse Logistics (RL)

Reverse logistics can be defined as a fundamental aspect in which the consumer can return goods sold to the manufacturer.

The access to information; having the necessary information to all stakeholders is so critical to the development of a company. Information as a driver has an impact on all other drivers in the reverse logistics (Edwards & et al., 2004). It promotes the mutual understanding, coordination, formulation, and interpretation of activities within an organization hence achieving the stability and integrity. Promoting an affordable and accessible source of information will reduce the management cost and increase the revenue of an organization.

Handling enhanced; the products returned by the customer have to separate and put in regards to their nature. Identical products can be put in the same place. This will reduce the contamination and mixing of products. Some products are so delicate in nature and maximum care has to be taken to reduce spoilage.

Ease of the access; this driver involves looking for a potential supplier of the materials. The management has to find so many suppliers to reduce the risk. Relying upon one source can lead to shortages and this will increase the availability of raw materials and have a continuous production process.

The collection point; the facilities should be well designed in such a way that will be accessible to the consumers at the time of their choice (Murtha & Pokharel, 2009). The points should be large enough to accommodate as many customers as possible. A website can be designed for easy accessibility and will have an access to date all regardless the time.

In conclusion, before implementing a new system, the management has to involve all the stakeholders of the importance of the reverse logistics. This increases the honesty among the parties involved. The new system has to be compatible with the existing network and the management has to design the best networks. Access to information and handling of facilities has to be given the first priority among the drivers. The design of the facilities affects the system and the processes, in such a way that the products are not of the same nature. Some products cannot be returned to the manufactures and hence a proper layout has to be designed to cater for those products (Govindan, Soleimani & Kannan, 2015).

The Racial Confidence Gap in Police Performance

The Racial Confidence Gap in Police Performance.

Please use the materials/websites I upload for the sources.

Discussion 1 This is a three parts exercise, in which you will think about how who we are and what we have experienced can influence our perceptions of law enforcement (and everything else!). (You will submit one original post, a reply to that post, and a final reply to your original post. You will be submitting three posts total.) Part I Post a brief response to the following set of questions. Think back to your first memory of learning about who the police are. • What did they represent to you and what is that based on? • Has that impression changed? If so, why? Part II After you finish the above, read along and complete the interactive exercises regarding police body cameras and perspective found at https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/04/01/us/police-bodycam-video.html. Be sure to jot down your responses as you go. Once you have completed the set of exercises, reply to your own part I with a response to the following questions: • What was your response to the first question regarding trust? • Based on how you responded to that first question, were your other responses consistent with the patterns identified in this article? That is, did what they expect would happen actually ring true? How so? How not? • What is the central “take home” message from this set of exercises? • How does that apply to you? That is, what about you do you think most influences your perspective of law enforcement? Part III Last, after reviewing the survey findings on class attitudes toward law enforcement, check out the three links below: • Americans’ Respect for Police Surges https://news.gallup.com/poll/196610/americans-respect-police-surges.aspx

• The Racial Confidence Gap in Police Performance https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2016/09/29/the-racial-confidence-gap-in-police-performance/ • Understanding Public Attitudes Toward the Police https://www.cato.org/survey-reports/policing-america Next, discuss how the national data compare to class attitudes about the police. Specifically: • Identify at least TWO specific findings/trends in the reports above that you can compare to our class survey results. Explain what the two findings/trends are (and cite which report they are presented in) and how those are the same or different from our class survey results on the same issue. How are they the same/different and how can you explain that? Discussion 2 After reading the two scholarly research articles (I will upload these) on race and police shootings, compare and contrast these works responding to the questions below: 1) What was the research question in each article that the authors sought to answer? 2) How were the research studies the same and different in terms of the research methods they used? (Here you should be drawing upon the sections in each article with the headings “current study/current research” and “method.”) 3) How (and why) were the findings the same or different?

Chosen policy illegal drug distribution: Define the policy. What is the purpose of your chosen policy? For example, what were mandatory minimum sentencing policies put in place to do?.

Chosen policy illegal drug distribution

The criminal behavior that will be addressed from a theoretical perspective is illegal drug distribution. The distribution of illegal drugs in the United States has increased causing more drug overdoses. Police, Fire, School personnel are now carrying Narcan to be able to revive those who suffer from a drug overdose. What are the most popular drugs that are being distributed is it heroin, prescription medication? What is being done about it, what is the level of punishment for those who distribute illegal drugs. There will be a review of court cases to develop a final portfolio reviewing all aspects of illegal drug distribution in the United States. Identify a crime policy or legislation, enacted or implemented in the United States within the last 20 years. You will need to examine and critique the policy from a theoretical perspective and write a 7-8-page paper where you will address each of the following: Define the policy. What is the purpose of your chosen policy? For example, what were mandatory minimum sentencing policies put in place to do? You will examine the social, governmental, or economic goals of the policy and its underlying assumptions about the crime and offenders and discern the underlying cause of crime and/or effective punishment with the policy. Development of the policy. What were the social, economic, governmental, or policy challenges which led to the development of the policy? For example, in 2009, the Obama administration’s White House Office of National Drug Control Policy shifted from a criminal justice focus to a public health focus, with a greater emphasis on rehabilitation. Theoretical model(s). Given the intended goals of the policy, which specific theories from the course can be used to explain the criminal behavior that the policy sought to deter? Based on the tenets of the theory, are the specific goals of the policy based on theory? For example, can life imprisonment effectively deter offenders from committing crime? Effectiveness of the policy. How effective are these policies? What does the empirical research state about the effectiveness of your policy? In turn, you are to analyze why the strategy is (or is not) effective based on specific elements of the chosen theory. Global comparison. Have other countries implemented similar policies? How effective have these policies been in those countries? In turn, are there policies implemented abroad which can be adopted in the United States? Summary. In this component of the paper, you are to summarily compare all of the policies you discuss (the original policy you examine as well as the alternative policies).

Marxist perspective of the holocaust.

Marxist perspective of the holocaust..

Description Outline of paper: Marxist’s Perspective on the Holocaust: What Would Karl Max Have Said? Introduction The Holocaust is considered one of the darkest events in world’s history. Historical analysts believe the Holocaust was advanced by the theory of Social Darwinism and resistance towards communist ideas of Karl Max. Marxist theorists have attempted to understand the uniqueness of the Holocaust. For most of the part, these thinkers have regarded the Holocaust as a byproduct of fascism conceived as a screen for rule by imperialistic factions of monopoly capital. This research paper will further advance the framework of Marxism by analyzing the Holocaust from a Marxist perspective. It will attempt to determine how Karl Max could have viewed the Holocaust and what ideologies could he have developed by then. Research Question In order to advance an understanding of Marxist perspective of the Holocaust, the following research questions will need to be addressed: 1. What would have Karl Max thought about the Holocaust? 2. What ideologies would he have used to either support or oppose the Holocaust? 3. What conclusions would he have made? Project Justification Karl Max was known for his disapproval of capitalism, terming it as a foundation for class oppressions. The Holocaust is a historical event marked by several incidences of oppression of people considered to be of lower social class. The views of Karl Max would have helped historians to understand the causes of the Holocaust and possibly identify effective strategies to deal with similar incidences in the future. This research project is important for understanding international relations because it offers perspective on how ideological differences can contribute to conflicts between nations. It also advances an understanding of different economic and political systems and how they affect the relationship between countries. Annotated Bibliography Assmann, A. (2010). The Holocaust—A global memory? Extensions and limits of a new memory community. In Memory in a Global Age (pp. 97-117). Cambridge University Press. This articles talks about the events that led to the holocaust. The article will provide sufficient information on what motivated the Nazi regime to execute the Jews and other groups. A connection between these motivating factors and Karl Marx’s ideologies will be made. Acker, J., Baca-Zinn, M., Collins, P. H., Cox, O., Davis, K., Eells, K., … & Marx, K. (2006). Social class and stratification: Classic statements and theoretical debates. Oxford University Press This book highlights Karl Max’s arguments about capitalism and how it promotes social class oppression. The information presented in this book will be used to make a connection between capitalism and the oppressions that took place during the Holocaust. Karl Max’s arguments against capitalism will be drawn from the book and linked to what he would have said. Callinicos, A. (2001). Plumbing the depths: Marxism and the holocaust. The Yale Journal of Criticism, 14(2), 385-414. The article focuses on the Holocaust and the Marxist explanation behind it. It will help advance the research further by providing insights about some of the Marxist perspectives about the Holocaust. Stevick, E. D. (2007). The politics of the Holocaust in Estonia: Historical memory and social divisions in Estonian education. Stevick & BAU Levinson (Eds.), Reimagining civic education: How diverse societies form democratic citizens, 217-244.
