Please answer each of the following questions, drawing from the readings where applicable. Responses to each question should be a minimum of 100 words.
Frith’s chapter focuses on deconstructing popular narratives of musical meaning. He critiques the idea that rock and roll is inherently sexual or sensual music, and asserts that this association is ultimately rooted in racist discourses that equate blackness with the (primitive) body and whiteness with the (civilized) intellect. What evidence does he draw on to develop this argument?
How are styles politicized and racialized in popular culture through the civil rights era, according to Garofalo? Why does Garofalo focus on sound, instrumentation, and style over lyrical content?
In his chapter, Frith distinguishes between the “musicological” and “sociological” aspects of music. Reflecting on our last three weeks of readings, and on your own experience with music, do you think that “musicological” and “sociological” aspects of music are ever fully separable? Why or why not?

IntroductionIdeation is the process of creating or forming ideas. The key word is “process” as it is a structured approach to accomplish a goal (such as solving a problem). Ideation uses both the left and right brain, uses past history and experiences, and combines these with new knowledge.Ideation excels in an environment of mutual trust and comfort. Ideation requires an end goal or objective to determine performance. It is not the number of ideas generated but the application to the objective that counts. Ideation sessions may last minutes or may extend to weeks depending upon the problem and its complexity. For more complex problems, it is best to use Triz – a Russian acronym for the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving. The following video will provide an introduction to creative problem-solving and Triz: Short Introduction to Triz (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.DirectionsFor this Discussion, identify some at least one problem (whether they be personal, work or society-related) that could use Triz to find a solution. Don’t try to solve the problem, just determine if Triz could be helpful. Triz works best on convoluted problems that have many outcomes and are generally not bounded. Use the peer-review as a way of delivering feedback. Challenge the ideas and solutions – this is the most helpful elements of the process.Point out what you perceived to be the strengths of the original posting along with supporting rationale.Identify specific opportunities for improvement about the content in the initial posting. Explain the four primary traits that determine the value of information. “The US government is a major producer of economic and financial data, statistics, analysis, and forecasts that are gathered, compiled, and published as public goods for use by citizens, government agencies, researchers, nonprofits, and the business community.” (Cromwick & Coronado, 2019). Government data is a good source of free information that is governed, is timely, of quality information and is analytical in nature. This makes it a prime source for valuable outside information. The four primary traits that determine the value of information are:
Information Type: There are two main types of information gathered.
Transactional: This information is gathered every time a sale is made or a service is utilized. Think of a retail store and the logbook for all sales and return tracking what sells and does not, during different times of the year. The information is used to make business decisions.
Analytical: This is all of the information about the business as a whole and is used in a managerial sense, for example the analytical data for a retail store could show whether there is enough support opening a second store in a certain region. You would utilize the transactional data to show that the sales in a zip code could support more stores but you would also use the median household income for the area the cost of labor and rent and a market analysis to determine if it would be a good fit as a whole. While still being business information it is of a more managerial sense.
Information Timeliness: is important in situations or fields where it matters, real estate may be a years worth while stock trades changes daily. When timeliness is important, it is as important the quality of the information.
Information Quality: The most important factor. Bad information or inconsistency in the information is worse the not having because it can make an entire data set worthless
Information Governance: Governance is about policy and process. Any company using data should create its on processes on how to take, store, access, maintained and used.
