Cultural Diversity in the Work Place and Organizational Performance Essay

Table of Contents Introduction Easiest Categories Difficult Categories Personal Observations My Culture, Socialization, and Education Cross-Cultural and Diversity Consciousness Conclusion References Introduction People exhibit diverse cultural practices, beliefs, norms, and behaviors that dictate the way they interact with their colleagues, neighbors, or friends. Such aspects will affect how they focus on their surroundings and histories. This paper gives a detailed analysis of the observations made after completing a learning activity aimed at identifying and discussing famous citizens whose achievements have shaped history. Easiest Categories After completing the exercise, I managed to evaluate and discuss different governmental individuals from different categories. The easiest ones to name were from the groups: upper class, male, Latino, and African American. This was the case since citizens from such backgrounds have been enjoying considerable support from the government. For example, males tend to have increased chances of acquiring quality education and getting a good job (Cheok, Aleti,

Lisp sublist.

Using Lisp write a simple pattern matching program. Define a sublist function that takes two lists as arguments. It will return true (T) and all sublist indices if the first list appears as a contiguous sub list somewhere within the second list, and false (f) otherwise.For example: (sublist ‘(c d e) ‘(a b c d e c d e f g)) ==> T 2 5              (sublist ‘(a c e) ‘(a b c d e f g)) ==> F              (sublist ‘(f) ‘(a b c d e f g)) ==> T 5

Simulation Results.

Briefly describe what your fabric ‘meadow’ looked like. Which colors of rabbits were left at the end of your simulation and how many of each color remained? (5 points)
Why did the results come out the way they did? Explain why all of the colors of rabbits did not end up with the same final numbers in the simulated population. The explanation here should demonstrate an understanding of natural selection. (5 points)

What would have happened to the simulated rabbit population’s size if there had been no predation? (3 points)
If we were looking at a real rabbit population, what other factors might control the population of the rabbits if no predators had been in the area? (2 points)

Given our simulation rules, if Coyotus predacious and Rabbiticus hopquickus are both nocturnal (so the simulation was re-done, but this time in the dark), would color play a more important role or a less important role in determining fitness? (2 points)

Given our simulation parameters, if hunters trapped all the coyotes, what would happen to the diversity of colors within the surviving rabbit population? (3 points)
Would all colors of rabbits have equal survival rates? Explain. (3 points)

What is the relationship between the chance to survive and reproduce and the traits an organism possesses? (5 points)
What does it mean to say that “the driving force behind evolution is the environment”? (5 points)
Given our simulation parameters, how would the results differ if ONE particular color of rabbit was able to produce six offspring in each litter while all of the other colors still only produced three per litter? (5 points)
Given our simulation parameters, how would the results differ if coyotes had learned that all white rabbits tasted bad or made them ill when eaten? How would you expect the rabbit survival results to turn-out? (5 points)
Did any individual rabbit adapt to its environment? (2 points)
How is the idea of individual adaptation different from the biological concept of population adaptation? (5 points)
Give at least three examples of an environmental change that could change which traits are selected for in a population. (6 points)

Given the same simulation starting with 100 rabbits, again with 10 rabbits of each of the 10 original colors and following the same simulation rules. But this time the environment is a yellow-flowered cloth ‘meadow.’

If you followed the same simulation rules, what do you predict that this population would look like after 3 generations? (2 points)
Explain your answer. (5 points)

Given the same simulation, but this time all 100 starting rabbits are yellow an,d in this instance, the ‘meadow’ is a red cloth.

If you followed the same simulation rules, what do you predict that this population would look like after 3 generations? (2 points)
Explain your answer. (5 points)

Assume the rabbit population can undergo sexual reproduction, and that rabbits with a muskier scent are more sexually attractive than rabbits without the scent. Would this affect the characteristics of a population? Explain and justify the reasoning behind this. (5 points)
How might the rate at which a species is able to reproduce impact its ability to evolutionarily adapt by natural selection? Explain your response. (5 points)
(Application) How might the information pertaining to evolution by natural selection gained from this lab be useful to you, or how can you apply this knowledge to your everyday life as a non-scientist? The application will be graded according to the rubric below. (20 points)

Key components of critical thinking and application include the following:

Demonstrates application and comprehension of the scientific principles. (40%)
Displays competence in applying scientific knowledge to your personal or professional life. Relevant content is supported by facts, data, and detailed examples. (40%)
The application paragraph is organized and structured. (10%)
Use of accurate scientific terminology. (10%)

An outcome evaluation is structured research that assists in determining if the program is creating changes. It assesses evidence of changes made and, if there are changes, show that they are directly relevant to the program’s experience. The transition of evidence base into clinical practice is crucial to providing safe, transparent, effective, and efficient healthcare and fulfilling patients, families, and society (Kristensen et al., 2016). Despite its importance, implementing research into clinical practice is challenging (Kristensen et al., 2016).
Evaluation is the most crucial step in any project to know its success and failure. Following implementing a practice change, it is vital to evaluate if the desired outcome was achieved. Peer assessment, audit, or even self-reflection can be used to assess the process and the results. Depending on the type of outcomes obtained, it may be necessary to compare the results of a study to similar findings (Curtis et al., 2017).

importance of Reporting Outcomes
The outcomes are important factors in the measurement of the conduct of practice interventions. According to Chien, evidence from research should have an implementation plan to demonstrate improved patient outcomes (Chien, 2019). Nurses utilize evidence-based decisions during their daily practice. The role of research in nursing practice dates to Florence Nightingale where she documented her concerns, implemented a treatment, documented the observations, and reported the outcomes as she cared for soldiers during World War I (Riegel et.al, 2021).
Increasingly, the quality of care is linked to the reported outcomes of the care provided. The link of quality to outcomes impacts several factors related to healthcare including reimbursement from payors, patient satisfaction and areas of resources for funding (Jones, 2016).
For my project, the outcomes reported would be a benefit to all stakeholder if positive. However, the outcome of the project would negatively impact the stakeholders at the end of the one-year program and does the health status of the participants has not improved, cost of coverage is increased related to reported health status. The purpose of my project relating to outcomes is twofold. The survey and data collection will provide reportable baseline information about utilization of benefits, health status of workers and potential risks associated with workers in a high-risk category for on-the-job injury (Webber, 2006). Another aspect of the survey, quantitative results will provide the observations for implementing the T2 prevention program at the facility. The goal of the project is intended to conduct a series of assessment surveys each quarter for a year. Each quarter the results will be aggregated and reported based on the changes of the key objections: Utilization of benefits, health status of workers and the potential risk for injury. The quantitative results reports will provide insight on the workers’ change in attitude and behaviors related to health status.

You have been working on a busy orthopedic unit for 6 months. The average patient length of stay in the unit is 4 to 7 days. The program from which you have graduated has subsequently graduated a new class, and three of the new graduates are coming to wo. I’m studying for my Nursing class and need an explanation.

You have been working on a busy orthopedic unit for 6 months. The average patient length of stay in the unit is 4 to 7 days. The program from which you have graduated has subsequently graduated a new class, and three of the new graduates are coming to work on your unit. The nurse manager has told you that she is counting on you to “demonstrate leadership and assist these new nurses to adapt to the work environment.”
Based on the behaviors of an effective leader found in this chapter, how will you assist your new colleagues?1. What are the differences between leadership and followership?
2. Explain the necessity for developing self as an effective follower.
3. Describe a situation in which a person acted as a leader. Explain how you concluded that
the person was a leader.
4. Review the different leadership theories discussed in this chapter. Which ones appeal to
you as a guide for your future leadership development, and why? Which ones might be
more difficult to apply in your life, and why?
5. Have the students identify three goals for the next year that will assist you in becoming a
more effective follower.
6. Review with the class the qualities of effective leaders discussed in this chapter.
7. Develop a 1- to 2-year leadership plan applying the qualities of effective leaders.
8. Identify these qualities in leaders that you known. What specific
situations have you observed where these leaders have been effective and why?
