San Diego City College Wk 6 Brainstorming Topics in Education Sector Questions.

InstructionsDuring this course, you will be researching a topic you are interested in and composing a research paper with an argument. You will choose your own topic. Most topics are fine for selection; however, there have been times when I have worked with a writer to revise a topic. Topics that are usually problematic are ones where an writer has a preexisting stance and/or strong bias that would be difficult to overcome. While it is important to select a topic you are interested in, you want to be able to have an open mind, too. Think of this research paper assignment and process as an opportunity to learn more about a topic you are curious about rather than a previously held opinion you want to try to “prove.”This assignment is to help you explore possible topics. There are questions for you to think about your life and how topics can be in front of us; some of these topics we can research in an academic argument space. This assignment is to explore, so be open and try to think outside the box as you ponder these questions. Try not to filter out ideas before writing them down. The more you write, the more topics you can have to choose from for your research project. You will receive a completion grade for this assignment once you submit it; your answers will be reviewed for completion and thoughtfulness after.

UCLA Fourth of July Celebrations & American Revolution Douglass Speech Cornell Note

UCLA Fourth of July Celebrations & American Revolution Douglass Speech Cornell Note.

Your assignment is to do a Cornell Note on Douglass’s speech. All the same rules apply, however there is a slight twist in the summary section. In your summary section, write about how the arguments presented by Douglass interact with at least one of the other materials for this week. In essence you are now using the summary section to put sources into dialog with each other WITHIN the assignment itself. Previously, you were given extra credit for doing this advanced move. There will not be extra credit for in this assignment as you have been building up to how to do the perfect Cornell note. To repeat, do a Cornell Note on Douglass’s speech as you would do normally. Rather than putting it in dialogue with other class materials and getting EXTRA credit, the summary section asks you to summarize Douglass in relation to another source from the week. To do it correctly and get full points: the argument and notes section should follow the TA’s instructions over the various weeks. AND in a summary of 300-500 words, discuss Douglass in relationship to one other source for THIS week. Please consult the videos prepared by the TA’s on History skills and plan to attend their office hours to ask additional questions. And remember, provide a citation when you are quoting directly from one of the sources. You should not have to consult any other materials for this assignment. please use all the materials I post. there should be two articles. and the douglass one should be the main article
