The Lab assignment will be graded out of 100 points.  There are multiple parts or tasks that make up each Lab.

Some tasks ask you to write code, and specify what name to use for the file in NetBeans. You need to use exactly the name that is given (do not change the case, or make any other modification). Remember, the name of the main class must match the filename.

There are further instructions at the bottom (after the questions) about how to save the file from NetBeans in order to be able to turn it in.

For some tasks you need to answer questions. You need to create an answers file.  Your answers document needs to be named with your lastname, your first initial, then LabXanswers.  So if your name is Happy Camper, then your Lab 1 file name is CamperHLab1answers. 

·         Put all your question answers there.

·         Acceptable file formats are plain text, Word document, OpenOffice document, and PDF.

·         Put your last name, first name and UTA ID in the file on the first line. 

·         Label the answers for each question with the number/letter of the question. Separate each answer from the next answer by at least two blank lines. 

·         Include all question number/letter combinations in the answers document.  If the question is a coding question telling you to save a file, for example some question numbered 17.b), then in your answers document you should put a message like “17.b) Please see file Lab1Part3.java for this question.”

This lab continues from Lab 3.  If you are not happy with your Lab 3 there will be a version of a Lab3 posted after the Lab 3 due date.

 

Part 1:  This lab will continue to work with the data file SciFiDataBMTErr2.txt .  We are going to modify the program you wrote for Lab3Part3.  Create a new application Lab4Part1 and copy your code from Lab3Part3 into this new program. 

 

In your new program, we are now going to create arrays to save all of the data from the input file.  We are going to use some single dimension arrays and some multi-dimensional arrays for this.

 

1.a) In Lab3 Part3 you stored the title, series number, series name, and price into single-dimensional arrays.  For Lab4Part1, you will create the following arrays to store the data:

 

·         Declare a 2-dimensional String array of 3 columns and 75 rows that will hold the title, series name, and content type.  Call this array names.                                                          {3 pts}

 

·         Declare a 2-dimensional int array of 3 columns and 75 rows that will hold the book year, movie year, and TV year data.  Call this array years.                                                              {3 pts}

1.b) You are also going to read in the data from the file in a different way than you did in the Lab3Part3.  For Lab4Part1 you are going to read in the Content Type, Title, Series Number and Series Name as you did previously.  You will store these into the names array and the seriesNum ArrayList.  All the strings should be stored in the same row of the names array.  The three names go in the three columns of that array.  The Series Number goes in the seriesNum array.

 

1.b) will be graded in the Lab4Part1 .                               {11 points; 3 per string, 2 per number}

 

 

1.c) After the colon, read the remainder of line of data in the file into a single string, called strBMT, using the .nextLine method. 

 

Using strBMT, split the data into separate words, determine which media info is there, convert the values to numbers as needed and store the data into the appropriate arrays.  The year values go into the years array in the appropriate column, the book cover into its array bookCoverType and the price in its array.  In the years array, the first column [0] is the column for the Book year, the column [1] is for the Movie year, and the column [2] is for the TV year.  Be sure to store the year data in the correct column.

Introduction

Racial diversity refers to the effective inclusion of people from all races in a manner that the people from every racial group and race are effectively represented (Winkfiels, et al., 2017). In any work place, racial diversity ensures that there is fair representation of all the groups involved. In a changing world where necessary expertise can come from any person of any race, it is imperative that a workplace remains open to changes to incorporate all necessary scenarios. Diversity planning ensures that there is fair inclusion of the workforce which promotes the principles of equal employment.

Diversification Steps

To effectively have a working diversification plan, the following steps could be incorporated:

Infrastructure inspection

This involves going through the number of spaces in the organization’s management structure. That will help determine the number of posts in posts such as directorate and general management so as to know which positions need to be expanded to cater for more posts.

Inspection of the company’s universalism

By doing so, I will be able to determine the areas where disparities are and come up with a solution which will address the most disadvantaged groups of people.

Determining the race ratio

For any workforce to be fair there should be harmony in the efforts to eliminate color disparities experienced by the people of race (Winkfiels & et al., 2017). The idea will be focused on going through company policies, destinations, services, and programs to determine the ones which need to be worked on.

Engaging internal stakeholders to determine how supportive the system is. Incorporates social relations and resource allocation to factor out the ones which are not effective.

Progress measuring through partnering with colored communities to determine the levels of accountability, development momentum and racial equity change.

Challenges in Plan Implementation

Ethnic and Cultural Differences

Different people from different ethnic backgrounds have different preferences. As such, it will be hard to identify which kind of changes or plans that may work for them (Dmowska & Stepinski, 2014).

Company’s Unwillingness to Adapt to Change

If the company is not ready to adopt any necessary or possible changes, then the plan is bound to fail (Robins, 2018). As such, there needs to be a perfect agreement between both the company and the contents of the plan.

Infrastructural Constraints

Many companies have rigid management hierarchy (Robins, 2018). If that is the case of our company, it will be hard to create new posts to accommodate the desired changes laid down in the plan.

Language and Communication Barriers

Different people from different ethnic backgrounds use their own languages. If the company is faced with a workforce that does not incorporate a common or related language structure, it may be unable to have a smooth transition towards ethnic diversification (Dmowska & Stepinski, 2014).

Financial Challenges

Some plans such as creation of new posts in management to cater for equal representation requires allocation of more funds by a company. As such, if the company is operating on limited capital, it may not be adapted enough to cater for such changes (Robins, 2018). As such, there will be need to stick to the old unfavorable systems.

Control Measures towards Achieving Diversification Plans

Evaluation of Market Conditions

The market should be ready enough to incorporate the changes coming along with the plan. As such, it should be able to accommodate the inclusion of new member drawn from different ethnic groups or cater for a complete overhaul of the company’s management. Otherwise, the plans may fail and leave the company suffering financially.

Exploring Alternative Measures

In every plan, there is always the likelihood that things may not work out as expected. As such, I will be having counter-measures to protect the company in case the initial plan does not work. That will include such scenarios as giving the company a choice of introducing a new independent branch that will be constituted by the people from the unflavored race. The branch will have its own management structure ad plans and will be working independently so as to address the needs of the desired group of people.

Administrative Controls

Administrative controls entail adopting typical practices that incorporates provision of necessary instructions, training and information so as to reduce the potential risks posed by the proposed changes.

Inclusiveness

During the planning process, I will make sure that I include all the parties involved. That includes every member of every color and ethnicity. It will help me have a neutral ground to start working on. As such, every person will have their ideas incorporated and it will give every member of staff a chance to be a part of the plan.

Conclusion

In any condition, we have seen that the success of any company lies entirely on its ability to make every part of its workforce work properly. That drives every person towards achieving the collective goal of the company. However, the inability of a company to change may leave it vulnerable. It will not be able to moderate its workforce towards achieving the set goals, but rather will always be struggling to meet it objectives.

This week discussion topic talked about the definition of the Node Voltage and mesh Current method, which is used to solve Linea problems, I found that the Node Voltage method and the Mesh current method are very useful for solving electronic circuit problems. First, you need to collect the information require to solve the problem, such as using the node voltage by applying kcl at each unknown node in the circuit and look for any supper node then sum the current flowing the node voltage uning these two method kcl and kvl to set the equation to zero and sum the current then put them in matrix format which I found to be difficult in the beginning but after I practice a view examples and used the octove online plateform to solve the matrix which maded easy for me to understand how the two method work and when you should apply them more lucky when we have more than three nodes and three meshes in the circuit we solve the node voltage we define one node to be zero volt then sum the equation. By finding the mesh loop that make up the circuit then we circulate each mesh current around the loops or the current then we will label the voltage drops on each component and we write the KVL equation around each mesh to Convert voltage equations to mesh-current equations using Ohm’s law.
Thevenin theorem is an analytical method used to break down a complex circuit into a simple circuit which state that any liner circuit contains multiple resistors and voltage can be changed by single resistor in series connected to load and it is not impossible to simplify any electronic circuit to an equivalent two terminal circuit.

For nodal analysis, it is best to make the circuit as simple as possible, with no crossing wires. Next is to find essential nodes, which are nodes with 3 or more components connected to it. One essential node can be made the reference, and can be ignored, the reference node will most often be of ground, with 0 volts. Once nodes are defined, KCL will be used to solve for voltages by putting the equations into a matrix. Supernodes are best done if nodes contain a source between them.
For mesh, follow the first step of nodal by making the circuit as simple as possible. The next step will be making mesh loops. Then KVL can be done to find the currents. These KVL equations can be put into a matrix and then solved. A supermesh is best done if two meshes share a power source.
By knowing the Thevenin equivalent, a complex circuit can be simplified down to a single component and a power source. This would make designing additions onto the circuit much easier, and would not need complex calculations to see how the circuit would react
