Brand Management

Brand Management.

21st Century Yoga is an online yoga interactive training company. Members get an online assessment of their health and fitness and then have access to customized yoga manuals and films. Members train alone at home, but they can upload films of their workouts to the site and get feedback on their performance. You have been hired to help create a unique brand image for this company. You need to find something that goes beyond the convenience factor to make the brand more robust. 1.1 In a few sentences, explain the brand image that 21st Century Yoga should try to create. 1.2 Design and describe a brief TV commercial that will communicate this image. 1.3 Create a Twitter message (no more than 140 characters) capturing the company’s brand image and identity. Question #2 Anytime Car is a new car rental company that just opened in Argentina. Cars are very expensive in Argentina due to high tariffs and taxes. This makes both car ownership and car rentals extremely expensive. The company wants to focus mostly on the marketplace of large cities, starting with Buenos Aires. The idea is to sign agreements with private car owners who would be willing to rent them, by the day or even by the hour, to other people. In this arrangement, Anytime Car will function as the broker. The idea is based on the fact that one’s car, especially in big cities with good public transportation like Buenos Aires as well as limited parking spaces, stays mostly idle. It is essentially an underutilized asset. Owners could make extra money by renting out their cars when they do not need them, and renters would save money if the rates are below the ones of formal rental companies. 2.1 What are the selling points the company needs to make to convince car owners to participate? What possible objections must it overcome? 2.2 What segmentation variables would you use to segment the market and which segment would you focus on? 2.3 How should the company try to establish awareness? What should be emphasized in the initial awareness promotional campaign? 2.4 What should be the key concept at the center of the company’s brand identity? Describe a TV commercial that would capture this image!

Communication Accommodation Theory

Communication Accommodation Theory.

Write a 2 to 4 page paper (500 to 1100 words) in APA format focused on assessing your communication accommodation and standpoint in terms of social group memberships and influence, including a discussion on how Harding and Wood would measure your degree of strong objectivity. Be sure to support your statements with evidence. Instructions Communication accommodation theory (CAT) states that in intercultural encounters, people who see themselves as unique individuals will adjust their speech style and content to mesh with others whose approval they seek. People who want to reinforce strong group identification will interact with those outside of the group in a way that accentuates their differences. Standpoint theory states that your location within the social hierarchy affects what you see and how you understand the world. The standpoints of marginalized people provide less false views of the world than do the privileged perspectives of the powerful. Strong objectivity requires that scientific research start from the lives of women, the poor, gays and lesbians, and racial minorities. Identify a group to which you belong. How does your membership in this group influence your communication behavior? Do you find yourself accommodating your communication style to match other members, and/or interacting with those outside the group in a way that accentuates differences between the outsiders and the group? Think about your place within the social hierarchy of the group and within the social hierarchy of the larger world. How would Harding and Wood measure your degree of strong objectivity? Do you agree or disagree with their assessment?

1. Federalism:

One advantage to a national policy that must be implemented by one agency of the federal bureaucracy.

(Use the space below to complete this section.)

Look at a national policy like the harmonization of health services and insurance which is addressed by the recent Health Bill for instance. The health department of the federal bureaucracy has really made a huge step. The delivery of medical services has been achieved through this policy. Although it is a national policy, the bureaucratical processes have been handled by the department of health which has made it possible for the national policy to be achieved. The agency is able to implement it at lower levels to ensure efficiency and wider reach of the citizens. This ensured that a majority of Americans are now able to access better healthcare at an affordable cost. Therefore, the national policy has greatly benefited from the federal bureaucracy in terms of the implementation of the Health policy (Harrison & Smith, 2013).

One disadvantage to a national policy that must be implemented by one agency of the federal bureaucracy.

(Use the space below to complete this section.)

The department of Homeland Security lies under the federal bureaucracy and was introduced in 2002. This was as a response to the county’s effort in responding to the rampant threat from terror group especially from the Arab world. The jurisdiction of this agency is to ensure that America is protected from any inland attacks and that every citizen’s lives and property is secured. The department however faces challenges in implementation where as some states have laws that tend to limit its operations. This means that procedures take much longer to be fully implemented as there are major consultations to be made across states and the agencies. Therefore, it is a disadvantage to the national policy because its mandate is often delayed leading to efficiency questions at the end of the acidity (Kettl, 2013).

One option to maintain the advantage of the national policy discussed above.

(Use the space below to complete this section.)

To ensure that the advantage of the health policy, there are factor that could be considered. One is by increasing the financing of its activities as to ensure that sufficient requirements are met. Staff should be increased as well as better remunerations awarded to motivate them to work better. It’d also be advisable to educate the public about the state agenda being promoted so that they may give it due support. In short, more support should be given to this agency in a ways possible to keep it empowered to continue extending its services to the people. By so doing, the national policy will be extended successfully to more citizens and its impact will be evident countrywide (Gluck, 2012).

One option to improve the disadvantage of the national policy discussed above.

(Use the space below to complete this section.)

To improve the disadvantage of the policy, there is need for harmonization of relevant legislations which may limit its efficiency. This would be achieved by ensuring that all states have a common ground on how to handle issues regarding this policy. There should be also a common database where all other satellite agencies can link up and network in sharing resources. Once this has been done, the information would be shared among all branches across the country. Response and efficiency would then be better as compared to before. The national policy then would have benefited much better from these local agencies delivery (Gormley, 2014).
