As part of our weekly conversation, you will be responsible for submitting your analysis of an article from a newspaper, magazine, blog, website, or social media site that pertains to the topic scheduled for the class. You should be prepared to describe and review the relevance of your weekly clipping with the class.
Like the “real world”, there is always some level of subjectivity with performance reviews. For the assignment grade, I will take into consideration the quality of the descriiption of your assignment and why it is relevant to the discussion.

I would like to take amazon as the case for this topic. and I will provide an “A” grade sample paper for the writer to have a general idea of what the professor is looking for.[supanova_question]

Economics of Business Environement

Economics of Business Environement.

Choose a firm or an organization. It must not be BA, Nippon Steel or Cemex. It could be a business/organization you work for or any other in which you are interested. It could be profit-seeking or, alternatively, a not-for-profit organization.

– You should set out the performance of the firm/organization in relation to its main competitors/comparators from 2006 until 2016. Conduct an economic analysis of the firm/organization, its wider macro context, its market exposures and its cost vulnerabilities. Does your analysis of these ‘fundamental economics’ of the firm/organization fully explain your data? If not, why not? What does your analysis reveal about the effectiveness of business strategy in your chosen firm or organization especially in 2008/2009? How well equipped is the business/organization to withstand further global economic shocks in 2017/18?

Instructions:
1) Number of words 3000 words. This is a strict limit not a guideline (Tables, Diagrams, Charts, Figures, Titles and Content list are excluded from word count).

2) Focus on the fundamental in the lessons attached

Focus:

Collection of data for company, competitor, market, industry and macroeconomics of the country/countries/region in which the firm operates in
GDP
Exchange Rate
Government Policies
Perfect/ Monopolistic/ Oligopolistic competitions
Barriers to entry
Strategic Hell
Cost Vulnerability (short run & long run)
Human Capital
Price discremenation
Price Elasticity

Additional instructions:

The comparison with the competitor should be basic, nothing special. If the competitor with which you will compare has the same fundamental economics it will be MUCH preferred.
The period 2006-2016 which you have been asked to look into is not a coincident. Its has been purposely given to you in order to examine all above before, during and after the big crisis.

Objectives:
– Demonstrate knowledge of the economic concepts
– Ability to use the concepts in the analysis of the chosen firm (this is what gives you extra marks)

Please see the attached for the lessons. Please note that on page 8 there are guidelines for this essay however, the information included here is what should be followed specifically as the client’s tutor changed the requirements slightly. Economics.of.the.Business.Environment.-.Lessons.pdf.

Pneumonia Case Study.

Mr. Smith is a 78-year-old male African American who lives at home with his wife. He was brought to the hospital because was experiencing shortness of breath, chills, and chest pain when he inhales. He stated that he started to cough about a week ago, so he started to take over the counter cough and cold medication because he thought that he just had a common cold because it is beginning to get cold outside, but the cough only got worse. The cough was productive, the sputum was thick, yellow, and blood tinged. Upon examination his respiration rate was 28 breath per minute, shallow and labored, heart rate 122 bpm, blood pressure 149/92, temperature 102.1˚F and oxygen saturation was 88%. This patient was also using accessory muscles to breath. Upon auscultation there were crackles and wheezing, and absent breath sounds in right middle lobe. During the assessment the patient stated that he was not able to eat or drink much because he felt weak and did not have much of an appetite. The patient’s history revealed that he was a smoker for about 30 years, but he quit about 10 years ago. He also has mild hypertension which is controlled with medication, diabetes, a tonsillectomy in his 20’s, and he is also allergic to penicillin and morphine. The patient also stated that he is not up to date with his immunizations because he believes that it Is all just a scam and he declined to take the flu and pneumonia vaccines when they were recommended by his primary care physician. Based on the findings of the assessment it appears the patient might have pneumonia. To treat the patient’s symptoms, the physician ordered 2 liters of humidified oxygen via nasal canula stat, a bronchodilator, Tylenol via IV and a broad-spectrum antibiotic while waiting for the results of the diagnostic tests. To confirm the perceived diagnosis and treat the patient appropriately, then physician ordered a chest radiography to detect the affected areas of the lungs, an arterial blood gas analysis, sputum culture and sensitivity test, and a complete blood count with differential. The chest x-ray revealed consolidation in the right middle lobe of the lungs, while the rest of the right and left lungs were clear. His white blood cell count was elevated which is an indication that an infection is present. The culture and sensitivity test revealed the presence of the gram positive, beta-hemolytic bacteria streptococcus pneumoniae, and which antibiotics the bacteria are most sensitive to. His hemoglobin was also low, it was 9.5g/dL. The arterial blood gas was also abnormal, pH =7.42, PaCO2=26, HCO3=26, PaO2 =54.
