In your career as a designer you must understand what social media is and how to use it to build upon the target audience exposure in a multi-media campaign. Including social media, promotional materials can help expand the message and help to reach a different part of a target audience. In addition, including social media to create a more detailed message in a marketing campaign can even help create a secondary target audience.
Background

Effective advertising is an important part of capturing the attention of the target audience. It is not enough to only promote a campaign through print advertising (billboards, flyers, postcards, packaging etc.), Including social media, promotional materials can help expand the message. Using graphic design messages help to capture your reader’s attention and steer them toward the message you want them to remember. According to Pew research “Facebook remains the most widely used social media platform by a relatively healthy margin: some 68% of U.S. adults are now Facebook users” (March, 2018). Using social media is your chance to build upon the strategy and to get the message out to a larger target audience.
